Mike Yien, a.k.a the Dawg Father, has been working with dogs professionally for the last 20 years. He started off walking dogs for his neighbors in NOPA and now cares for dogs all over San Francisco and the surrounding areas.
While many dog walkers limit themselves to one or two neighborhoods and one or two dog parks, Mike will work with most dogs in most neighborhoods! He prides himself on being the dog walker people can call when other dog walkers can't handle their pets, with his dog training experience and patience towards challenging dogs.
For the past 12 years, Mike has also been involved in the realm of dog handling and training. He has been working alongside Bob Guittierez, the owner of Better Way Dog Training. Together, they provide basic obedience classes, advanced obedience and agility courses, aggressive dog rehabilitation lessons, and Canine Good Citizen certification. Mike offers his services privately as well as in a group training setting.
Prior to beginning his professional pet services career, Mike Yien worked in the food industry as a chef and kitchen manager at several high traffic (high stress) restaurants. Mike moved to the Bay Area in 1999 from Malaysia where he was born and raised. He comes home to a wonderful wife and three adorable children, as well as 2 dogs of his own!
